Marie Ann Tobin, 87, died Friday morning at Mineral Wells Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, where she had been lovingly cared for this year. She was a stay-at-home mother, artist, swim instructor, bowler, gardener, singer, office worker, seamstress, lifelong Democrat and devout Catholic. About 35 years ago she was named "Bam Bam" by her then toddler grandson, Jack, and was thus called by her grandsons and all their friends for the remainder of her life. She spent almost all of that life in Kansas City before coming to Texas about 15 years ago where she became "Bam Bam" to a new grandson, Alex. She is sadly preceded in death by too many: daughter and son-in-law, Marciana Seymour and Royce Leaton; son-in-law, Kenneth Addison; sister and brother, Edna Tobin Duval and Richard J. Tobin Jr., and parents, Richard J. and Marie Ann Tobin Sr. She is survived by her daughter and youngest grandson, Cathy Seymour Addison and Alex Addison of Lipan; beloved grandson, Jack Rosser Jr, his fiance Rahma Coburn, his son, great-grandson Kiegan Rosser, and her soon to arrive first great-grandaughter; her adoring niece, Patricia Duval Tobin; and her adopted children, Joanna Bradley, Leslie Edwards and Jesse Penny. According to her wishes, there is no service over her earthly remains; we know that her soul is already reunited with all the precious loved ones she longed to see. She will be missed by all, and envied, but with no regrets. She lived a full, sometimes very exciting, and long life. She will be thought of always, but especially now, as her favorite Texas wildflowers prepare to bloom.
