Vance H. Beaty, 84, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007 in Azle. Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Monday at White's Funeral Home. Burial: Nelson Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 pm Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Vance "Papoo" Beaty was born in Briar the son of the late, John and Myrtle Looper Beaty. He was a farmer his entire life. "Papoo" especially enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mr. Beaty was a member of Briar Baptist Church. He loved John Deere tractors, his cattle, cowdogs and mules. A vacation to "Papoo" was fixin a fence. His favorite past-time was eating. Although he seemed gruff as a bear, he was a people person, very tender hearted with a heart of gold. Mr. Beaty was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Verna Karen, and daughter, Glenda Gene Cash. Survivors: Wife of 64 years, Emma Dean Beaty; son, Tommy Beaty and wife, Suzanne of Springtown; daughter, Patricia Stevens and husband, Allen of Springtown; brother, William E. Beaty and wife Lois of Boyd; sister, Billie Auvenshine and husband Bill of Azle; six grandchildren, Mark Stevens, Debbie Miles, Darryle Cash, Deana Currier, Michael Beaty, and Michelle Beaty; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
