Sheila Zummo, 49, of Weatherford, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007. Known by friends and family as a natural leader and teacher, Sheila Beth Zummo was born September 15, 1957 in Mineral Wells, Texas, daughter of the late Herbert and Lois Cargill Smiddy. A native of Graford, Sheila was a graduate of Graford High School and received a degree in business education in 1981 from the University of North Texas. Serving 24 years with the Fort Worth office of the American Heart Association, 1990 to 2002 as executive director, Sheila inspired many to the work of volunteerism.Sheila recently became an executive vice president for international advancement for the North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford.Sheila is survived by her loving husband, Kevin Zummo of Weatherford; children, Alex and Kate Zummo, both of Weatherford; brothers, Eric Smiddy of Graford and Ricky Smiddy and wife, Dixie of Weatherford; parents-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Natale Zummo of East Central, Miss.; brothers-in-law, Dr. Guy Zummo and wife, Carolyn of Raleigh, NC and Natale "Ned" Zummo and wife, Mary Jo of East Central, Miss.Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2007 at First Baptist Church, 221 W. Church Street, Weatherford. Interment will follow in the Graford Cemetery, Graford. The family will receive guests 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford.
