Alice May Bodiford

Alice May Bodiford, 85, joined the Lord Thursday, April 12, 2007.Alice was the daughter of the late G.J. Johnson and Elizabeth Jane Keays, born in Fort Worth, Texas on Aug. 3, 1921. She moved to Weatherford in 1931 where she attended and graduated from Weatherford High School in 1939. Alice was joined in marriage to Tom Howard Bodiford on Sept. 27, 1940. Being companions in love and business, together they began a auto seat-cover business in 1942, later serving Parker County and surrounding cities as owners of Bodiford Plate Glass Co. from 1947 to 1975. Alice was a member of South Main Church of Christ in Weatherford and past chief of the Pythian Sisters. Alice enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and taking care of her family. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Ted Johnson. Survivors include her husband of 66 years, T.H. Bodiford of Weatherford; daughter, Jeanne Ann Bodiford Whitaker and husband, Chet of Sachse; grandson, Brandon Thomas Beard of White Settlement.Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2007 at South Main Church of Christ, 201 S. Main Street, Weatherford. Burial will follow in East Greenwood Cemetery, Weatherford. Visitation will be held 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home.
