Vida E. Mully, 79, a retired school teacher, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007 in Azle.Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Azle. Burial: 9:30 A.M. Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane A. Memorials: The Mully family requests that, in lieu of flowers, Vida's memory be honored with a memorial donation in her name to either Compass Hospice, Inc., 125 County Road 3051, Decatur, TX 76234, or The Hospital Auxiliary at Harris Methodist Northwest Hospital, 108 Denver Trail, Azle, TX 76020.Vida was born in 1927 to the late Alfred and Leta Gangstad in Gilmore City, Iowa. She received her BA and MA in education from Northern Illiois University and taught junior high language arts in Rochelle and Kings, Ill. Vida was a homemaker who enjoyed gourmet cooking, herb gardening, reading, and was a "die-hard" Chicago Cubs fan. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, National Education Association, Breakfast Club Sunday School, various bridge clubs and domino club. Vida was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Azle. She volunteered at Attic Re-Run Methodist Hospital Resale Shop and was a volunteer reading mentor in local elementary schools. Vida was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Neva Lanning. Survivors: husband, Delbert Mully; daughters, Reba Eich and husband, Bob of Crown Point, Ind., Barbara Daily and husband, Mike of Azle, Marcia Torbett and husband, Larry of Weatherford; grandchildren, Jeff Eich and wife, Michelle of Crown Point, Ind., Amy (Eich) Sonnenberg and husband, Ralf of Goldbeck, Germany, Mindy (Daily) Owens and husband, Nathan of Fort Worth and Nick Daily and wife, Maureen of Charleston, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Eric Sonnenberg, Emily and Erica Owens and Seamus Daily.
