Jane Topliff, 85, a retired registered nurse, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at a local nursing home due to complications of Parkinsons. Graveside Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at Acton Cemetery in Granbury. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at White's Azle Funeral Home Jane Topliff was born October 1, 1921 in Jackson, Tenn. She served in the Woman's Army Corp in World War II from 1941 to 1945. Her first assignment was an underground communications unit in the New London, Conn. area. Jane was in charge of the plotting boards and updating military aircraft and ships at sea. She attended Lambuth College in Jackson, Tenn. and was a graduate of the University of Texas School of Nursing. Following the war, she worked in private practice. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters. Survivors: daughter, Sarah Tucker; grandson, Jeremy Tucker of Azle; brothers, Otis Covington and Wilburn Nelson, both of Jackson, Tenn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
