W. C. "Bill" Brown Jr., 84, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 13, 2007.William Chappel Brown Jr. was born March 2, 1923 in Aledo. Son of the late William Chappel Brown Sr. and Jessie Irene Trigg, the Brown family were some of the early settlers in Aledo in 1856, later donating land for the Aledo-Brown cemetery. Bill served in the United States military and worked for General Dynamics for 32 years. He was a life-time member of the First Baptist Church of Aledo and served on the Aledo school board for almost 20 years. Bill, a master woodworker, built many things for his church, as well as graciously building whatever his children and grandchildren requested.He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora Louise Bennett Brown in 1987; daughter, Cindy Luce in 2007; and sister, Elona Elizabeth Brown in 1945.Bill is survived by his daughter, Vickie Kuykendall of Aledo; son-in-law, Harold Luce of Aledo; grandson, Mike Kuykendall and wife, Traci of Cleburne; granddaughters, Melissa Quintero and husband, Hector of Coppell, Tina Hughes and husband, Wayne of Fort Worth, Amy McMillin and husband, Wade of Weatherford; great-grandchildren, Michela and Amelia Kuykendall, Tabitha and Natalie Hughes, and Hunter and Logan McMillin.Funeral services are scheduled 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the First Baptist Church of Aledo, 209 Elm Street, Aledo. Burial will follow in Aledo Brown Cemetery, Aledo. The family will receive relatives and friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund of First Baptist Church Aledo, 209 Elm Street, Aledo, Texas 76008 or the American Diabetes Association, 2315 N. Main Street, Ste. 320, Fort Worth, Texas 76106.
