Elrie Charlotte Brinkley Eskew, 95, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at a Fort Worth hospital. Elrie Charlotte Brinkley was born Jan. 11, 1912 in Buffalo, Texas, daughter of the late Willie Henry and Charlotte Fore Brinkley. As a young child she worked in the cotton fields, later becoming a licensed beautician. She also worked for Montgomery Ward and retired from General Dynamics. She was preceded in death by her husband, Will Eskew; brothers, James Otis Brinkley, John Quinn Brinkley; sisters, Willie Blanche Brinkley, Helen Evora Brinkley; great grandchildren, Amy Lou Carroll and Rachel Ann Eskew. Survivors: Son, Billy Earl Eskew and wife, Norma of Aledo; daughter, Sherry Ann Bates and husband, Sidney of Willow Park; grandchildren, Susan Wiley, Brinkley Earl Eskew, Tonya Sturgill, Brett Giles, Veronica Bates; great grandchildren, Brandan Giles, Casey Giles; great-great granddaughter, Ashlynn Michelle Giles; sister, Mildred Higginbotham; sister-in-law, Marguarite Brinkley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and special companion, Pierre. Funeral services are scheduled 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2007 at First Baptist Church of Aledo, 209 Elm St., Aledo. Burial will follow in the Aledo Brown Cemetery, Aledo. The family will receive guests 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford.
