Nita Daniel, 72, of Plano, devoted and loving mother and grandmother, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007.Nita Daniel was born March 25, 1935 in Abilene, the next to youngest of nine children born to the late Yandell and Elizabeth McKay Mantooth. Nita was very involved in the Weatherford chapter of the V.F.W. She served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. and past officer of the District V.F.W. An avid reader, Nita worked for the Bookcase in Weatherford for a number of years. She also enjoyed cross stitching, sewing and cooking.She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters. Nita is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Daniel of Plano and Michelle Daniel and husband, Brett Bates of Dallas; son, Chuck Daniel of Weatherford; grandson, Christopher Daniel of San Diego, Calif.; granddaughter, Nicki Daniel of Springfield, MO; sister, Naomi "Sis" Nelson of Baytown; brother, John Mantooth and wife, Janice of Abilene; sister-in-law, Shirley Mantooth of Abilene; former spouse, Charles Daniel of Weatherford. Nita is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 in White's Chapel of Memories, Weatherford. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park, Weatherford.
