Beuna Maxine Vess

Maxine Vess, 82, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2007, at home with her family by her side. Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday in White's Springtown Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Maxine was born in Springtown to the late Phillip and Eva Bedford Bowen. She was a lifetime resident of Springtown. Maxine was known for her good "cookin'." She was a very active member of First Baptist Church of Springtown and the senior center. Mrs. Vess loved women's basketball and enjoyed watching the Game Show Network. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Vess; and two brothers. Survivors include, daughters, Earlene Parks of Springtown, Darlene Lynch and husband, Cecil, of Springtown and Judy Houston and husband, Terry, of Saginaw; sons, William Vess and wife, Katherine, of Denton and Ray Vess and wife, Cheryl, of Saginaw; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carrie Reed of Springtown.
