Opal Blanche Hughes

Opal Hughes 77, a housewife, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 27, 2007 in Ft. Worth. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday at First Baptist Church of Springtown. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m., Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Opal was born in Ben Franklin, the daughter of Clifton and Blanche Free. Mrs. Hughes, a talented singer, was a member of the Joy Singers. As well as singing, she enjoyed sewing, quilting and playing the piano. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Free; and sister, Oneida Free. Survivors include, her husband, Albert; son, Jerry Hughes and wife, Stacey of Fairfield; daughter, Deborah Ray and husband, Lynn of Palo Pinto; grandchildren, Chris, James, Misty, Michelle, Brianna, Chyanne, Tifnie; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Destin, Trevor; brother, Roy Free of Paris; and sister, Mary Moses of Bonham.
