Robert David Blalock

Robert D. Blalock, 87, a World War II veteran, passed away Monday, October 15, 2007 in Springtown. Funeral services: 11 a.m., Thursday at White's Springtown Chapel. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Robert Blalock was born in Lavern, Oklahoma, the son of Hinton and Rosa Blalock. He retired from El Paso Natural Gas after more than three decades of service. Mr. Blalock moved to Springtown after his retirement. He was a member of Community Bible Fellowship. Mr. Blalock was proud to have helped build La Junta Baptist Church. Survivors include, wife, Anna Blalock of Springtown; daughters, Sonnie Simmons and husband Jack of Springtown, Judy Parch and husband, Mike of Katy; son, Leslie Blalock and wife, Lea of Odessa; grandchildren, Scott Simmons, Jennifer Brown, Bryan Parch and David Blalock; and sister, Dora Brown of Roswell, NM.
