Ray Crosslin, 84, of Weatherford, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 29, 2007.Born Bynum Ray Crosslin in Childress, Texas son of the late C.W. and Mary Williams Crosslin, Ray served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He attended Weatherford College and received his Masters of Education degree from Texas Christian University. Ray was employed for many years with the Fort Worth Independent School District as a teacher. Among many awards he received during his career, Ray was awarded Teacher of the Year in the 1950s.Very young at heart and proud of his family, Ray delighted in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Farming was his hobby and he enjoyed helping people.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary; and brother, Joe Bob Crosslin.Ray is survived by his son, Lynn Crosslin and wife, Willetta of Weatherford; daughters, Linda Beavers and husband, Gary of Weatherford and Nancy Grance and husband, Bob of Spring Branch; grandchildren, Greg, Grady, Cassy, Chad, Ross, Mary, Holly, Heather; seven great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Sommers of Oklahoma. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled 10 a.m. Thursday, November 1, 2007 at First Baptist Church, 221 W. Church Street, Weatherford. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens of the Valley, Weatherford. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
