Mary Nail, 91, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007. Funeral: 10 a.m., Thursday at White's Funeral Home Burial: 1:00 p.m., Friday at Eastview Cemetery in Vernon. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mary was born Oct. 23, 1916 in Gainesville, the daughter of Luther and Lola Layton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman, (T.V.) Nail in 2002. Survivors: daughter Shirley Maxwell and husband, G.W. of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Felicia, Michael and Karen Maxwell all of Lubbock, Terry Gammill of Tampa, Fl, and Tammy Kimberly of Shawnee Mission, KS; eight great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her; brother, Carlton Layton; sister, Lucille Causey; and two nephews. Mary blessed her family with her sweet spirit and quiet manner. She will be forever loved and carried in the hearts of her family.
