Wanda Mae Hughes

Wanda Mae Hughes, 81, passed away Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 in Azle. Funeral: 10 a.m., Tuesday at White's Springtown Chapel. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Wanda was born May 25, 1926 the daughter of M.A. and Chloe Mordecai in Chillicothe. She had been a resident of Springtown since 1968. On January 16, 1948 she married Jorman Lee Hughes, a former Springtown City Councilman. Mrs. Hughes was loving and devoted to her family. She will be greatly missed. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband; parents, and brothers, Grady, Leon, J.T., David Ray and Mayfield Mordecai. Survivors include, daughters, Donna Herrington and husband, Bill of Weatherford, Jammie Gentry and Jack Horton of Springtown; granddaughters, Heather Gaston and husband, Michael of Heaslet, Jessica Gentry, attending OU in Oklahoma; great-granddaughter, Trew Lee Gaston; brothers, M.A. Mordecai Jr., and wife, Pat, James Mordecai; sisters, Linda Jordan, Preiscilla Bennett and husband, Donald; sisters-in-law, Fay Atchison and Shirley McPherson.
