Louis D. Huse, 87, a longtime resident of Parker County and beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died Monday, December 10, 2007, after a brief illness.L.D. was one of seven children born to Carl A. and Pauline Makowsky Huse. He was born September 25, 1920, in Hill County, near Malone, Texas. When he was only two years old, the family moved to Dawson County, near Lamesa, Texas. He lived there until he joined the Army in January 1941. He married Ruth Grobe on June 2, 1944, and was almost immediately ordered to the port of embarkation and overseas to the C.B.I. Theatre.L.D. was a member of the 124th Cavalry/ Mars Task Force for 19 months in the China-Burma-India area during World War II. He served in the U.S. Army for almost five years.He was preceded in death by infant son, Don Anthony, while living in the Lamesa area. He and Ruth moved to Parker County on Greenwood Road in January 1948. He was a dairy farmer there for almost 24 years. Then during the next twenty years he cultivated a small peach farm while also working as a part-time employee of Parker County Precinct 3.L.D. and Ruth were charter members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Weatherford. He was also a member of the 124th Cavalry Association, the American Legion, and the Weatherford College Basketball Boosters Club.His survivors include his wife of 63+ years, Ruth; daughter, Connie Huse Nightingale and husband, Wilhelm, of Schertz, Texas; grandson, Andy Brison, of Wichita Falls; his sister, Ruth Menix, of Monroe, WI; and a host of other relatives and good friends.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Weatherford. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens of the Valley. The family will receive guests 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Organ Fund or charities of choice.
