Hassie Motley Johnson was born on August 31, 1905 in Eagle Cove, Texas and went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 17, 2007 from natural causes.Hassie graduated from Abilene High School and was in the first class at McMurry College. Hassie and her family had lived in several places in Texas and New Mexico before moving to Millsap in 1944. Hassie was a tireless worker with her husband on the family farm as well as maintaining the home. She was a wonderful pianist, playing for many weddings, funerals, church services, Eastern Star meetings, or any other place anyone would ask of her. Hassie was always active in her church serving the Lord. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sam Johnson; son, Samuel C. Johnson; and her granddaughter, Lauren Montz.She is survived by her son, Wesley "Wes" Johnson; sister, Lera Beach; two granddaughters, Melinda Johnson and Carol Samsky; two grandsons, David Johnson and Wes Johnson Jr.; one great-granddaughter, six great-grandsons; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.A graveside service will be held in the Brock Cemetery, 2 p.m. Saturday December 22, 2007. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford.In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Homebound Ministries of North Side Baptist Church, 910 North Main Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
