Ronald K. Edwards, 70, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, surrounded by his family at a Fort Worth hospital.Ronald Keith Edwards was born June 24, 1937, in Wichita, Kan., the son of the late Jesse Earl and Dora Bersuch Edwards. He was a graduate of Kansas State University. Lt. Col. Edwards served in the United States Air Force, during which time he was a B-52 pilot, retiring after 21 years of honorable service. Mr. Edwards was an active and dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford, where he served as former chairman of the Deacons, taught Sunday school in the children's department and sang in the church choir. He was also a member of The Gideons International. Mr. Edwards liked people and loved watching sports, especially basketball.Survivors include wife, Wanda Edwards of Weatherford; daughter, Lori Wiseman and husband, Lynn of Plano; son, Keith Edwards of Weatherford; grandchildren, Erin and Adam Wiseman of Plano; niece, Martha Crawford and husband, Kenneth of Weatherford; grandchildren by choice, Jeffrey and Katie Crawford of Weatherford; sister, Janis Watkins and husband, Lawrence of Wichita, Kan.; and a host of loving family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Weatherford. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Weatherford. The family will receive guests 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford. In lieu of usual remembrances, the Edwards family suggests contributions be made in Ron's memory to First Baptist Church, 221 W. Church Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086 or The Gideons International, P.O. Box 122, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
