Roy Lee Woods, 71, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008.Funeral Service: 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at White's Springtown Chapel. Burial with Military Honors will be in Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. Roy was born September 23, 1936 to Edward F. and Jessie L. Woods in Higgins. He was in the United States Navy for over 9 years. Roy worked at General Dynamics and then went on to work at Woodland Heights in Lufkin, John Peter Smith, Saint Joseph, Medical Plaza, and Harris Hospitals. He was preceded in death by his father, Ed Woods on October 6, 1981 and many other family members.Survivors include his mother, Jessie Woods of Fort Worth; daughter, Anita Ewing and husband, Forrest of Springtown; granddaughters, who were his pride and joy, Amanda and Angela Ewing of Springtown; sisters, Edwina Prowitt of Fort Worth, Judy White and husband, David of Burleson; brother, Robert Woods and wife, Betty of Azle; special cousin, James Peacock of Higgins; 6 nieces and nephews and special care givers during his illness and his last few days Katie Bateman of Springtown and Wendy Culver of Fort Worth.
