Tommy Howard Bodiford

Tommy Bodiford, 87, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008 in Weatherford. Services: 2 p.m. Monday at South Main Church of Christ, 201 South Main St., Weatherford. Burial to follow in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford. Tommy was born in Weatherford, the son of the late Tom and Lola Bodiford. He was a lifetime resident of Weatherford and graduated from Weatherford High School. Tommy was the owner of Bodiford Plate Glass Company for 37 years, which was the only commercial glass company west of Ft. Worth when it opened. Tommy was a member of South Main Church of Christ. He was a large supporter of the Pythian Home, and as an avid gardener, contributed much of his produce to the Pythian Home and friends. Tommy was also an avid sportsman. He was a Master Mason and a member of Phoenix Lodge 245, 32 degree Mason-Fort Worth Scottish Rite, and Moslah Shrine Temple. Tommy was a great teacher of life to his daughter and grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Alice Bodiford on April 12, 2007; his parents; by three brothers; and one sister. Tommy will always be fondly remembered by his loving family and friends. Survivors include, daughter, Jeanne Whitaker and husband, Chet of Sachse; grandson, Brandon Beard of Ft. Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving family and friends.
