Mildred "Ciddy" Hurst, 91, an adventurous grandmother, passed away Monday,Feb. 25, 2008, surrounded by her family in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford. Burial: Memory Gardens of the ValleyMemorial Park, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. Visitation:6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mildred Hall Hurst was born Jan. 5, 1917 in Fisher County, daughter of the late Hugh Finley and Golda Long Hall. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and, with her three sisters, sang in a gospel quartet. Mildred was passionate about photography and in her spare time was a member of a study club and garden club and was an avid bridge player. Mildred also spent many years as a substitute teacher. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Hurst; parents; and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors: Son, Steve Hurst and wife, Carol, of Weatherford;daughters, Marsha Foster and husband, Fred of Dallas, and Cathy Hurst of Victoria; grandchildren, Stacie Thomas, Jason Foster,David Hurst, Joe Basham, and Bonnie Lance; great-grandchildren,Anna Kathryn Thomas, Lindsey Foster, Avery Foster, Brandon Foster,and Hewes Lance; and a host of loving family and friends.
