Alice Lena Young

Alice L. Young, 88, a beautician, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2008 in Azle. Services: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 11 at First Baptist Church of Springtown. Burial to follow in Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at White's Springtown Funeral Home. Alice Young was born June 5, 1919 in Paradise, the daughter of Walter and Martha Combs. She was proud to be a lifetime member of First Baptist Church. Alice had many hobbies including, dominoes, crocheting, gardening and cooking. The love of her life was her grandchildren. Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee; children, Roy and Retta Young; and sisters, Iva Dunn and Elizabeth Hutcheson. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the following, Dr. Marshall Morrison and staff; Dr. Hal Kinkeade and the First Baptist Church of Springtown; Azle Manor Nursing Home staff; and Covenant Hospice staff. Survivors: Sons, Jerry Young, Bill Young and wife, Taressa all of Springtown; grandsons, Brian Young of Springtown, David Young and wife, April of Haltom City, and Derek Young of Springtown; brother, Travis Combs and wife, Maxine of Burleson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
