Jeanne Harrington, 83, a homemker of Azle passed on to the Lord, Monday, May 12, 2008 after a long illness. Memorial Service: 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, May 14 at Silver Creek Place Assisted Living Center, 1300 Silver Creek -Azle Road in Azle. She was born in Minneapolis, Minn. to Jerome and Clara Ruff. She married Richard Harrington on November 24, 1945 in Minneapolis, Minn. They had two children, Barbara Sawyer of Azle and James Harrington of Atlanta, GA. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1952 where she lived until 2004 when her health brought her to Texas and the care of her daughter, Barbara. She was an avid bowler and expert rifleman. Jeanne was an active member of St. Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Phoenix, Arizona. She loved gardening and telling jokes. Above all else, she loved her family. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Jerome and Clara Ruff, Brother, Jack Ruff, and her beloved husband, of 53 years, Richard Harrington. Survivors: daughter, Barbara and husband Donald Sawyer; son, James and wife, Cheri Harrington; sister, Betty Giebenhain; grandchildren, Geoffrey, Amy, Kyle, Mandi and Brieanna; 5 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made in her name to Silver Creek Place Assisted Living Center, 1300 Silver Creek-Azle Road, Azle, Texas 76020. The family sends their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Silver Creek Place Assisted Living Center for their loving care the last 3 years of her life and Compass Hospice.
