Lyle D. Eldridge, 82, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2008, surrounded by his family at a local care center. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church Assembly of God, 5301 Alta Mesa Blvd., Fort Worth. Interment: Caddo Cemetery, Joshua. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Lyle D. Eldridge, the oldest of 13 children, was born in St. Louis, Mich., on Sept. 11, 1925, son of the late Richard E. and Myrtle Swift Eldridge. He married the former Lois Maxine Guthrie on Dec. 12, 1948, in Elwell, Mich., and together started their family of four children. Lyle's passion was woodworking, and he absolutely loved and cherished his grandchildren. He was crazy about kids and couldn't pass one without speaking. Lyle was a member of Christ Church Assembly of God in Fort Worth for many years. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors: Wife of 59 years, Lois Eldridge of Aledo; daughter, Margaret Long of Fort Worth; son, Marshall Eldridge and wife, Billie, of Burleson; daughter, Marsha Creech and husband, Angel Pineda, of Haltom City; son, Martin Eldridge and wife, Theresa, of Joshua; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
