Joe Dale Byrd

Joe Dale Byrd, 93, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 in Austin. Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 19, 2008 at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Joe Dale Byrd was born June 30, 1915, the son of the late William Joseph and Clorissy Adams Byrd in Clyde, Texas. He graduated from Millsap High School in 1935, and then served in the US Navy. Joe married Mary Alam Williams in May of 1939. After his discharge from the Navy in 1947, he started his career with the Federal Aviation Agency. After his retirement in 1973, Joe moved to the Austin area and spent his time with Mary and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife Mary in 2002.Survivors include his daughters, Judy Mansfield and Joyce Gremillion; grandchildren, Laura Heinig and husband Erich. Dale Gremillion and wife, Shelly, Paul Dixon and wife, Sara; Danny Gremillion and wife, Milybett; great-grandchildren, Carla, Garrett, Brandon, Releigh, Berlin, Faubien, Milacey, and Militzy; brother-in-law, James Daniel and wife, Lenny Jo; nephew, Bill Reeves, and special friends,Charlotte and Goree, Darla, Minnie and Luis, MilyMar, Simon and Simon Daniel, John and Laura, Stephanie, David and Samantha, Earl and family, and Diana and family.
