Born to George Thomas and Valeska Gail Grant in Seattle, Washington. His father a British naval chaplain and minister, his mother having the distinction of being the first American nurse to volunteer for Red Cross duty in WWI. "Jerry" as he was known to family and friends was a lifelong Artist, Musician, Photographer and Song / Story Writer. Having written songs such as "The Mystery Of You" for the Platters and "Ring A Ling A Lario" for Jimmy Rogers in New York's "Tin Pan Ally" during the 1950's-1980's. A veteran who served in the Army Air Core in Burma during WWII he grew up in depression era New York City. In 1961 he married Marilyn McComb and together they had two children Greg and Margee. He spent the last 30 years of his life with his longest love Dita in Escondido, Ca. He leaves behind Greg and his wife Rhonda, Margee and her husband Dave Isaacson, Grand children Nicholas, Chandra, Hannah, Caleb, Grant, Autumn, John and Maria. Great grand children Alex, Alexis and Andrew. His love always went out to Dita's children who adopted him as there own, Talia, Dahna, Amara and Jeremy and their combined children who called him "Papa Jerry" He was greatly loved and loved greatly . In the waning days of his life he turned his love towards his Heavenly Father whom he called "Wonderful" by the Son who he had received.
