Sylvia Ann Smith

Sylvia "Pick" Smith, 62, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008 in Dallas. Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday at White's Chapel of Memories. Interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Sylvia "Pick" Smith was born May 11, 1946 in San Angelo, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy Harden. She had been a resident of the Weatherford area for nine years. "Pick" married John Smith and they had been married for nearly 45 years. Sylvia was in the oil and gas business along with her husband. Sylvia loved traveling to Shreveport to play the slot machines and also enjoyed fishing. "Pick", very family oriented, loved her children and grandchildren. Sylvia was a member of the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, J. B. Smith in 2007; grandson Austin in 2002; brother, Billy; and sisters, Dell, Susie and Zetta. Survivors include, husband, John Smith of Weatherford; daughter, Michelle Barnett and husband, Bart of Poolville; son, Thurmon Smith of Weatherford; grandchildren, BJ, Josh, Chris, Bart Jr., Tas; Colton, and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Riley and John Allen Smith IV; brother, Pete Harden of Okla; sister, Bell Thornton; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends.
