Nancy Green Scheffler

Nancy Green Scheffler passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 in Weatherford at the age of 87. She had been in failing health for some time. Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.Nancy was born July 7, 1921 in Brenham, the only child of Jack and Bershie B. Green. She graduated from Brenham High School and Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Nancy married Frank H. Scheffler in 1948 and lived in Dallas for many years before moving to Fort Worth. She finally moved to Weatherford to be nearer to her family. Nancy was a long-time member of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas and attended Ridglea Baptist Church in Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and youngest son, Sam Low Scheffler.Nancy is survived by her son and his wife, Frank and Cyndy Scheffler of Peaster; grandsons and their wives, Benjamin and Laurie Scheffler of Peaster, Matthew and Emily Scheffler, and Joseph and Casie Scheffler, all of Fort Worth; and seven great-grandchildren.
