Lillie Mae (Brown) Loggins made the transition from an earthly life to a heavenly life peacefully, Monday morning, July 14, 2008, after a lengthy illness. She was 97 years of age. Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 17 2008 at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Interment: Lillie will be laid to rest next to her husband of 59 years, Thomas Elra Loggins and her daughter, Wanda Loggins Hutson in Central Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jason Benson, Jackie Loggins, William (Junior) Loggins; James Moore; Mike Teems, and Jack Loggiins. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m., Wednesday at White's Funeral Home. Lillie Loggins was born to Andrew Jackson Brown and Mary Magdalene Harrington on September 10, 1910. Lillie had an avid memory up to her death. She could tell many stories concerning the history of Parker County and Mena, Arkansas, where they lived in the early 1930's. She was one of the few surviving pioneers of the Peaster Community. Lillie attended public school in Weatherford. Mrs. Loggins was a very devoted Christian housewife and mother. She loved to work in the yard and around the farm. Mrs. Loggins was a very talented cook and cooked at the Peaster School Cafeteria for 20 years. She was an excellent seamstress and worked at the White Star and Rankin laundries for several years. In addition to her other many activities, Lillie played the organ and piano for the York Avenue Baptist Church for 30 years. Her last wish in life was to be able to play the organ for Jesus when she got to heaven. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband, Elra in 1993; daughter, Wanda Hutson Loggins in 2002; and grandson, Barry Hutson in 1983. She is survived by her son, Charles Loggins and wife, Hortencia of Peaster; grandchildren, Billie Hutson, Craig Hutson and wife, Joanna, Greg Hutson and wife, Shana,Sylvia Teems and husband, Mike, Jason Benson and Tracie Benson; great-grandchildren, Tanya, Shane, Caleb and Josh Hutson.
