Donald Ray Stokely, 66, went to heaven to sing for the Lord, Friday, August 1, 2008. Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m., Monday at White's Funeral Home. Donald was born June 12, 1942, in Dallas the son of Horace and Frances Stokely. He was a driver for the Merchants Fast Motor Lines. Mr. Stokely, known as the Singing Cowboy, performed in the local Opery. He will always be remembered for singing over the CB Radio. Donald was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Erman Earl Lowder; and his father. Survivors include, his wife, Judy; sons, Kenny and Wayne Stokely; granddaughter, Alara Stokely; brother, Gary Lowder; sisters, Shirley Hill, Linda Lovejoy, Cathy Setty, Patsy Wilkins, Helen Lowder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
