Robert "Leroy" Barbee, 80, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with the Lord Friday, August 1, 2008 in Fort Worth. Funeral: 10 am Monday, August 4, at First Baptist Church. Interment will be private. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home. Leroy Barbee was born June 1, 1928 in San Angelo the son of Robert Algin and Mary Viola Raiborn Barbee. Mr. Barbee was successful in Real Estate and land development. He was proud to have been awarded "Outstanding Young Businessman of the Year" in 1962. Leroy was an active member of the First Baptist Church and a very strong Christian leader in the Open Door Sunday School class. Because of his great love of music, one of his favorite past-times was listening to his daughter, Tonya play his favorite songs on the piano and granddaughter, Jennifer sing. With a smile on his face, Leroy never met a stranger and there was a joke to be told to everyone. He was preceded in death by parents; sister, Evelyn Hill; and Tonya's daughter, Rachel Baker. Survivors, wife of 58 years, Janie Barbee; daughters, Pam Chambless and husband, J. D., and Tonya Browning and husband, Walter; granddaughters, Jennifer Pryor and husband, Brandon, Jill Manning and husband, Brian; great-grandchildren, Aubrey and Kinley Pryor, and Jack and expected baby Manning; brother, Wayne Barbee and wife, Bess; sister, Doris Banta and husband, A.L.; and a host of loving friends and acquaintances
