Clara Blinka, 90, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2008 in Arlington. Service:2:00 P.M. Saturday at First Methodist Church of Azle. Interment: Hondo Cemetery-Oakwood Section. Second Service: 11:00 A.M. Wed. at First Methodist Church in Hondo. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.Clara was born November 11, 1917 in Bee County to Herman and Dora Rabe, growing up in Tuleta. On September 6, 1936 she married Jerome V. Blinka. They lived in South Texas until moving from Hondo to Azle in 1962, where they owned their grocery store. She worked for various drug chains for 30 years, including Windrow's Pharmacy in Hondo, retiring as a cosmetic supervisor from Revco Drug Company in 1979. Clara loved sewing and cooking.She was a lifetime member of the First Methodist Church. Clara was a 50 year member of the Hondo Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, and by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors: daughter, Dorothy Brucks and husband, Edward of Grand Prairie; granddaughter, Jerri Jeske and husband, Richard of Arlington; grandson, Russ Brucks and wife, Dawn of Burleson; three great-grandchildren, Brent Jeske, Jamie Jeske and Maitlyn Brucks; brother, Carl E. Rabe of San Antonio; several loving nieces, nephews and good friends.
