Ola Emma Lowery

Ola H. Lowery, 91, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, surrounded by family at a local hospital.Funeral: 2.p.m. Monday at Ash Creek Baptist Church, Azle. Burial: Paradise Cemetery, Wise County. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Ola H. Lowery was born August 27, 1917, in Roanoke to Jessie and Beulah Holman.Ola loved garage sales,playing dominoes, she liked to sew and make pillows, and quilting. Ola was a member of Ash Creek Baptist Church for 50 years,and was active in Sunday School, the Rebecca Lodge, the Red Hat Society, Home Extension Club and numerous other activities. She also volunteered at the Library and visited the nursing homes to bring good cheer until her health failed. Ola was preceded in death by her husband, Harper Lowery in 1983, her parents, two sisters, Dola Stokes and Corrine Stone Cooper.Survivors:son, Preston Lowery and wife, Cathy of Paradise; daughter, Deana Holt and husband, Charles of Azle; 9 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Velma Barrow of Weatherford; close friend Ida Knight of Azle; numerous nieces,nephews and a host of loving friends.
