Mildred Clay McDonald, 69, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, surrounded by family at her home in Aledo. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at White's Azle Funeral Chapel, 105 Denver Trail, Azle. Burial: Azleland Memorial Park, 850 North Cardinal Road, Azle. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mildred Iline Cook was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Vernon, the baby of 11 children, to the late Brodie M. and Lucy Rolen Cook. Mildred loved to fish and was a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She loved animals and especially loved her yardwork, which she considered her healing therapy. Prior to moving to Aledo, Mildred lived in Marshall for 20 years. She was a member of the Baptist church and Eastern Star. Mildred was preceded in death by husbands, Harvey Clay in 1978 and Berry McDonald in 2006; son, Michael Keith Clay; parents; and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors: Sons, Dale Clay and wife, Angie, of Bowie, and Lynn Clay of Fort Worth; daughter, Kathy Kite and husband, Steve, of Aledo; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Delbert Cook of Nocona; sisters, Mary Neal of Gainesville and Madine Hicks of Archer City; very special friend, Elbert Ritter of Jefferson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
