Jo Elaine Plunkett, 75, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, at a hospital in Wichita Falls. Funeral: 10:00 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 301 South Main Street, Weatherford. Reverend Glenn Jones will officiate. Burial: East Greenwood Cemetery Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Avenue, Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances the Plunkett family request donations to United Methodist Women, 301 S. Main St, Weatherford, TX, or Manna of Weatherford, 129 E. Spring St., or a charity of your choice. Jo Elaine Plunkett was born March 19, 1933, in Tulsa, Okla., daughter of the late Wayne and Nettie Brown Bingham. For 31 years she made her career with the United States Postal Service before her retirement. Jo was a member of First United Methodist Church and a resident of Weatherford since 1986. She was president of the UMW of First United Methodist Church Weatherford, and a volunteer at Weatherford Regional Medical Center. Jo loved to dance, liked to travel and just recently went to Canada; and loved being involved with her grandchildren's activities. On March 3, 1986 she married George in Parker County. Jo was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Niva Vinson. Survivors: Husband, George Plunkett of Weatherford; sons, Bobby Gilbert of Arlington, Richard Gilbert of Denton, Bruce Gilbert of Ft. Worth, Daniel Plunkett of Austin; daughters, Susan King and husband, Kendall of Jacksboro, Cathy Singletary and husband, Greg of Ft. Worth; grandchildren, Ryan, Eric, Lauren, Dylan, Sarah, Meagan, Kasey, Austin, and Alec; sister, Jacque Crawford of Ft. Worth; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family and friends.
