Dorothy Sharp Savage, 76, a long time resident of Parker County, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 in a local hospital.Services: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in White's Chapel of Memories. Interment: East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.Dorothy was born in Weatherford, December 30, 1931, graduated from Weatherford High School and Weatherford College. She and her late husband, H.C. (Plug) Savage were known for their involvement with young people throughtout the schools systems of both Springtown and Weatherford. Their work and dedication to the Little league organization, the Booster Clubs of both communities, and of course their church was legendary. It was due to their dedication and support that the concession stands and fund raisers for all the sports organizations were always successful. Dorothy retired from the Springtown ISD in 2004 after 20 years of service where she worked with special needs children.She was a lifetime member of Friendship Baptist Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, "Plug", her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Lasater Sharp.Survivors: children, Sue Long of Dripping Springs and Richard Savage of Weatherford; grandchildren, Steven Willis Long IV, Connor, Carter and Kaylee Savage; brother, John Sharp and his wife, Patty; sister, Mary Louise Fischer; several nieces and nephews.
