Mr. Hugh A. Shelton went to be with his Lord on October 14, 2008. Graveside Service: 11:00 A.M. Friday in Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at White's Azle Funeral Home.Mr Shelton loved to work and build. During his life of 78 years he built a home and family as well as committing time and service to his country and community. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 58 years as well as the Masons for over 50 years. Mr Shelton was also a member of Midway Baptist Church. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was twelve years old and was baptized in a stock tank in East Texas where he grew up. He married the love of his life, Mary Helen Payne, in 1954. Together they spent 54 years as husband and wife. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lovey Shelton, sister, Mildred Spence; brothers, Pat and Mike Shelton. Mr Shelton is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Shelton; daughters and sons-in-law, Dorlis and Roe Creager of Springtown, Mary and Lloyd Turnbull of Cleburne; grandsons, Michael Hugh Creager of Fort Worth, Liam and Lucas Turnbull of Cleburne; also survived by his sisters, Louise Hallman of Winnsboro and Mariann Castillo of Fort Worth; and brother, Don Shelton of Burnt Ranch, Calif.
