Sheila Laxton's long and courageous battle after a stroke ended peacefully Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008. Memorial service: 11 a.m. Saturday in White's Azle Chapel, ending with an Eastern Star service. Memorials: Sheila has asked that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Shriner's Hospital for (Burn) Children in Galveston. And now in her own words "She is in a neverending field of grass bathed in eternal sunlight where she is running, walking and playing with her five precious babies who preceded her in life, waiting to be joined with Stan, her forever loving and devoted husband of 45 years, and five surviving precious babies. Shelia was born Jan. 8, 1942, in San Antonio. She retired from AAFES after 33 years of service, the last 24 being at Carswell AFB. Sheila was a member of Daughters of the Nile and a past matron of both the Azle and Boyd chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. Survivors: her husband, Stan; nieces and nephews, including her most favorite niece, Danna.
