Margaret E. Phillips, 84, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with the Lord Monday, October 27, 2008. Funeral: 10 am Wednesday at White's Chapel of Memories. Interment: Poolville Cemetery Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at White's Funeral Home Weatherford. Margaret was born March 2, 1924 in Wheeler to A.R. and Lula Anne Tate. Margaret lived in Weatherford most of her life and graduated from Poolville High School. She married William P. "Bill" Phillips, who established and pastored Calvary Assembly of God Church. Margaret was active in the ministry as co-pastor, song director, Sunday school teacher, WMS President, Y's Director and special singer. She was married to Bill for 67 years and a Pastor's wife for 58 years. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Billie Lue Moore; brother, Jerry Hugh Tate; amd two grandsons, Ronnie Russell Phillips Jr., and Rusty William Phillips. Survivors: husband, Rev. W. P. Phillips; daughter, Joan Rockwell and husband, Richard; sons, Johnny Phillips and wife, Norma, Ronnie Phillips and wife, Debbie all of Weatheford; sister, Shirley Madderra and husband, Harold of Knoxville, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Carolyn Tate of Paradise; six grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
