AZLE -- Charles Holt, 70, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, peacefully passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, surrounded by family at his residence in Azle. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at La Junta Baptist Church, 5207 East Highway 199, Springtown. Burial: Paradise Cemetery, Honeysuckle and Pecan Street, Paradise, Wise County. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Funeral Home, 105 Denver Trail, Azle. Charles Edward Holt was born Sept. 8, 1938, in Rural Shade, son of the late Johnnie and Nettie Hemby Holt. He was a 52-year resident of Azle and a longtime member of La Junta Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Charles made his career in the construction industry and retired after many years as a carpet layer. Charles fought a very courageous battle with lung cancer for two and a half years. When asked "How are you?", his response, no matter how he felt, was always "Great." Charles was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Albert Bing; and brother, Johnnie Holt Jr. Survivors: Wife of 51 years, Deana Holt of Azle; son, Doug Holt and wife, Ginger; daughters, Roneice Parish and husband, Randy, Tammye Galindo and husband, Rick; son, Jonathan Holt, all of Azle; grandsons, Brad Holt, Carl Hopkins and Christopher Jones; granddaughters, Serra Holt, Jenea Padgett, Tiffany Holt, Amber Holt and Melissa Galindo; great-granddaughters, Kyla and Aslyn; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
