Howard Robert Potter

TROY -- Howard Robert Potter Jr., 53, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2008. Memorial service: 10 a.m. Wednesday in White's Chapel of Memories, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210-4486, to further research in the fight against melanoma skin cancer. Howard was born in Weatherford on Jan. 25, 1955, to Bobby and Ruth Potter. He attended Weatherford High and graduated in 1973. Howard began a career in the construction industry, where he continued to work until 2006 when illness prevented him from continuing. He spent the last two years in semi-retirement in Falls County. Survivors: His children, Zack Potter and his wife, Chrisha, of Troy, Meredith Amber Ruth Johnston and her husband, Brian, of Corsicana and his son, Howard Robert Potter III of Arlington; grandchildren, Mathew and Morgan; and brother, Fred Potter of Weatherford.
