Harold Wiley Smith

Harold Wiley "Pa" Smith, 89, went to join the love of his life, Katie, on Saturday, November 8, 2008 after a brief illness. Graveside Service: 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in East Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at White's Funeral Home. Harold was born January 18, 1919 in Verden, Oklahoma to Wiley Morgan Smith and Pearl Mae Hester. He was raised in Weatherford with his brother Lloyd, who predeceased him. Harold enlisted in the National Guard on November 25, 1940 and was honorably discharged on August 5, 1945. He left April 2, 1943 for overseas and returned on July 29, 1945 after having fought in Africa, Naples, Rome and Southern France. He was a quiet, ordinary man that loved his family. Harold will be forever loved and forever missed. Harold also joins his daughters, Betty Henslee, Donna Lease and grandson, David Henslee. Survivors: children and their spouses, Chuck and Cindy Billman, Jim and Cindy Bird, and Diane and Jim Rae; eleven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
