James Elmer Schlaepfer

WEATHERFORD -- James Elmer Schlaepfer, 82, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008, in Fort Worth. Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Azleland Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Schlaepfer was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Peacock. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II. He was a former superintendent for Lydick Adams Construction, retiring after 25 years of service. After retirement, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and working in his garden. James was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his children, Danny Schlaepfer and Denise Fry. Survivors: His loving wife of 62 years, Jean; children, Donna Souza and husband, David, Diana Drake, David Schlaepfer and wife, Anna, Dolores Gibbs and husband, Tony; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
