Emma Lee Lowe Burkhalter

SPRINGTOWN -- Emma Lee Burkhalter, 89, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2008, at a Weatherford care center. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 401 N. Main St., Springtown. Bill Paxton will officiate. Interment: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Emma Lee Lowe was born July 6, 1919, in Springtown, daughter of the late Abe and Dona Rhoten Lowe. Emma Lee was a lifelong resident of Springtown and longtime member of Springtown Church of Christ. She and her husband, Howard, were self-employed in the dairy and grocery business. Emma Lee was always by Howard's side. Emma Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Howard Burkhalter, in January 2007; her parents; and son-in-law, Ken Jennings, in January 2008. The family would like to express a special thanks to her loving caregivers, including Holland Lake Nursing Center and the Cancer Center of Weatherford. Survivors: Daughters, Janita Jennings and Kathy Wadsworth and husband, Bob, all of Springtown; son, Chris Burkhalter and wife, Ginger, of Benbrook; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Roach of Springtown; and a loving extended family and host of friends.
