WEATHERFORD -- Linda Marie Swackhammer, 59, a loving wife and mother, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, surrounded by family and close friends at a Weatherford hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 606 Mockingbird Lane, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Swackhammer family requests memorials in Linda's name to First National Bank of Weatherford, 220 Palo Pinto St., Weatherford, Texas 76086. Linda Marie White Swackhammer was born Dec. 12, 1949, in Bath, N.Y., the daughter of Lester L. and Hazel Ellison White. Linda was a very special person and loved her family dearly. She had a calm demeanor and kept her feelings to herself. She loved her home and loved to work outside with her flowers. Linda and Renee, Linda's pride and joy, loved to travel together. Linda also loved to watch Renee play tennis. Linda and John grew up together in New York and were married in 1970. Linda was a member of Savona Central School, class of 1968. All of Linda's civic activities were through First National Bank of Weatherford, where she was employed since 1994. Prior to moving to Weatherford in 1993, she lived in Campbell, N.Y. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Lester White, and a brother, Richard White. Husband of 38 years, John Swackhammer of Weatherford; daughter, Renee Swackhammer of Austin; mother, Hazel Ellison White of Savona, N.Y.; sister, Edna Burton and husband, James, of Hackettstown, N.J.; brother, Charles White and wife, Roxanne, of Campbell, N.Y.; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of loving friends.
