WEATHERFORD -- Nell Dean Wilson, 91, passed away Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, in Weatherford. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday, January 3, at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 606 Mockingbird Ln., Weatherford. The Reverend Charles Bruner will officiate. Burial: Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, 130 Houston Ave., Weatherford. Memorials: In lieu of usual remembrances, the Wilson family suggests contributions in Nell Dean's memory to the Miriam Byron - Nell Dean Wilson Fund at Grace First Presbyterian Church, 606 Mockingbird Ln., Weatherford, Texas 76086. Nell Dean Wright Wilson was born Sunday, Mar. 25, 1917, in Hubbard, a daughter of the late La Fayette Lee and Susie Ann Pullin Wright. Nell Dean was the younger of two girls. She married the late Burhl Wilson and to this union were two sons, Larry Edward and Richard Wright. Nell Dean and Burhl were married for forty years prior to his death in December, 1986. Nell Dean will be laid to rest next to her beloved Burhl. Nell Dean was a faithful, longtime member of Grace First Presbyterian Church, where she remained very active until her passing. Nell Dean was a graduate of Trinity University and the University of Texas at Austin, from which she received her masters degree. She began her teaching career in Gainesville in 1941 and retired from the Weatherford Independent School District after 33 years of dedicated service. Nell Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Burhl Wilson; parents; and sister, Lytle Lynn Holloway. Survivors: Sons, Larry Edward Wilson and wife, Stephanie, and Richard Wright Wilson and wife, Vicki; grandchildren, Carl, Ellie, Melanie, Ryan, and Mandi; great-grandson, Travis Fletcher; a loving church family; and a host of loving friends.
