Georgia Ruth Pearce

SPRINGTOWN -- Georgia Ruth Pearce, 95, passed away Thursday, Jan. 1, 2009, in Azle. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Tuesday in Jay Bird Cemetery, Jay Bird Lane and Union Street, Springtown. Georgia Ruth Burkhalter Pearce was born Dec. 18, 1913, in Springtown, daughter of the late Oce Kyle and Winnie Young Burkhalter, both of Springtown. Georgia married Elvis H. Pearce in Weatherford on May 13, 1933. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 1974. In addition to her husband of 41 years, Georgia was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors: Son, Robert "Bob" Durwood Pearce of Fort Worth; daughters, Sonna Cromwell Ryan of Washington and Jo Ann Williamson of Oklahoma; and a host of loving family and friends.
