Emma Jo Torbett

Emma Jo Torbett, 70, passed away early Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, in a local hospital. Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. Interment: Memory Gardens of the Valley. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Emma was born Oct. 21, 1938, in Parker County, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Garrett. She attended school in Millsap and was a lifetime resident of Weatherford. Emma Jo was a longtime service worker at convenience stores and was known by many as "Jo". She attended Baptist Churches all her life. We are confident she is with our Lord Jesus Christ now. Emma Jo was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Mary Garrett; sisters, Shirley Hughey, Margaret Allison; and step-brother, Mike Proctor. Survivors: Husband of 52 years, Don Torbett; children, Jerry Torbett, Donna Montgomery, and Vickie Sherman and husband, Don, all of Weatherford; grandchildren, Afton and Blake Montgomery, Brooke and Adrianne Sherman; sister, Gloria Brooks; step-sister, Jo Ann Hughey; step-brother, Dana Proctor; brother, Thomas Garrett, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
