Myrle E. Burr

Myrle E. Burr of Mineral Wells, Texas died Monday, January 19, 2009 in Midland, Texas. She was born September 8, 1917 to Larwood and Avel H. Ellis in Mammoth Springs, Arkansas where she was raised and educated. Myrle was married for 68 years to her husband and devoted companion, Lawson O. Burr, who preceded her in death in Mineral Wells, Texas on May 8, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lola Brown and Maude Hayes; brothers, Ed Ellis and Lawrence Ellis, and by her young son, Joe Ed. Myrle Burr is survived by sons, Orvis K. Burr and wife, Sue, of Mansfield, Texas and James E. Burr and wife, La Veta, of Midland, Texas; granddaughters, Leticia Kaye Burr of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Julie Anna Burr of Sweetwater, Texas; Lyndsi Burr Clark and husband, Casey, and her great grandson, Jackson Weston Clark of Casal dei Principi, Italy; and Lauren Marie Burr and her fiance, Drew Davis, of Midland, Texas. Myrle Burr was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.The family will receive friends at White's Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, Texas on Friday, January 23, 2009 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at First Baptist Church of Mineral Wells, Texas with Dr. Mark Bumpus officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, Texas.
