Doris Claudette Stewart

Doris Stewart, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother, 85, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009, at a local hospital.Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ash Creek Baptist Church, Azle.Burial: Ash Creek Cemetery.Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at White's Azle Funeral Home.Doris was born August 22, 1923, to Claude and Mary Garner Davis in Texas.She retired after many years as a secretary for Colorado Interstate Gas Company. Doris also worked for American Quasar and in the real estate business. She married J. D. Stewart, in January of 1959, in Fort Worth, Texas. Doris loved her music and sang in the choir at Ash Creek Baptist Church. She also loved to grow things with her "green" thumb.Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband, J. D. Stewart, in 1972, and her beloved daughter Vickie Lee Tems.She is survived by her daughters, Jenne Carter Briedwell and husband, William, of McKinney and Diann Stewart of Azle; eight grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and brother, Ed Davis of Azle.
